APUs are manufactured in India by a specialized workforce at Cooper Corporation at its Maharashtra facility in Satara. Its ISO-certified plant uses a variety of advanced manufacturing technologies and processes that are tightly controlled and designed for maximum productivity. The APUs provide electricity and compressed air to the locomotive at a stand-still when the main diesel engine is not running.
