As Gandhiji has said about Parsees “I am proud of my country for having produced the splendid Zoroastrian stock in numbers beneath contempt, but in quality and philanthropy perhaps unequalled, certainly unsurpassed”.
The Parsees have spread themselves all across the world. The glaring exception is the Cooper family which settled in the small town of Satara for more than a hundred years and has spearheaded the social reforms and economical uplift of the masses through social responsibility and entrepreneurship. Now there is only one Parsee family in Satara – the Coopers, who are still holding the mantle of social and economic upliftment!
Corporate Social Responsibility has been mandatory since the last couple of years, but Cooper has always been active and committed to social development. Our CSR polices are guided by following:
We consider society as one of the key stakeholders. Through sustainable measures, we actively contribute to the social, economic and environmental development of the community and thereby create value for the nation.
Ensuring socio-economic development of the community through different facilitating participatory and need-based initiatives in the best interest of the community around and society at large, particularly focusing on the poor and deprived sections of the society and their children so as to help them become self-reliant and build a better tomorrow for themselves.
